- The gym has lots of fancy equipment for the variety you think you might need for a workout. Treadmills, bicycles and weights. Some gyms might even have an aerobics class with the balls and the steps. But if you think about it just cleaning the house can break you into a sweat. Bending over, twisting and turning, pushing, pulling. Well, that was my Mom’s reasoning, anyway so I thought I would throw it out there.
- A set of goals and even a to do list of the different exercises of the body parts working towards to make sure you are moving forward and not backward or standing still. An exercise diary along with a diet diary would be a good thing to see what works and what doesn’t work or anything in between.
- Pedometers, whether just keeping track of steps, miles or even calories. Smart watches get even more complicated with keeping track of sleep, motion and the like. Share with friends set goals or just be in the know. Make challenges to yourself such as I’m going to walk 10,000 steps today or 4 miles in an hour. A $5 pedometer is cheaper than a $500 treadmill or even a gym membership. Although you will have to keep track of all of this yourself at your own pace such as the calories burned, miles walked and steps took. It would be just like at the gym only better. You might even get some sunshine in with some vitamin d.
